Exactly... you have to get rid of those "neh sayers" so those room for the "yey sayers", such as yourself.

HE lives with HER at HER mom's house.... men these days ARE the "baby mama drama" ... women are so STRONG and capable, they just decide to in pregnant them and live off of them. It PISSES ME OFF!

That's why I was saying it was weird your psych suggested it.... don't get me wrong, my sister met her fiance and father of her 1 year old through a dating site....and it worked out... BOTH of them had secrets... SHE was the bad one in the relationship, and now it has all worked out... but you just have to KNOW how to sort through the BS and be safe... it's SO easy for a guy to make a profile, lie, and get laid. At least on the free sites! lol But I have heard very happy stories from online dating. I'm just very worrisome about it.

If baffles me...I thought MEN were supposed to be the ones that took care of women and babies, not women bustin their asses twice as hard to scrape by. Morals have been lost somewhere in this generation..

Yeah I know what your saying and really appreciate your advice. Part of me is like "bring on the boys!!" but I know that wont fix anything, in fact might make things worse. Like you pointed out I really need to get to know myself first, and tbh, this conversation has really highlighted that for me. I might put the online dating on hold for awhile...

Oh ladies.... it's good to relate.   But trust me... it's much MUCH better on the other side... it's still scary, just a different scary. There is nothing more important in life than gaining yourself and being able to show your children how to do the same.

I met my SO on a kind of teen website, I wasn't looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend, just people to talk to when I was bored. We started talking and we started to like each other so we met up at my school's homecoming football game and started dating. I think it's a great way to meet someone if you don't like to go out to meet people. (I wasn't the partying type)

I am dating the most wonderful, charismatic, hilarious, successful, and brilliant man who is great at communicating, complimenting, and sex!

I met him online and I was only on Plenty of Fish for 24 hours. His profile made me laugh and I started talking to him. We have the same sense of humor and went back and forth over texts and facebook for awhile before actually meeting. The first time we met we both thought it was going to be a 45 minute date where we made an excuse to get the hell out, and I ended up staying up with him until 8 am!

Try it

I don't think it's desperate at all! I think it takes a LOT to put yourself out there and summarize yourself in a few paragraphs! lol Before I met my husband I did try it for like a week but I couldn't handle it. I signed up for Plenty of Fish and I got like 70 some messages the first day. It was ridiculous. No one listened to what I was looking for and sent me messages like "Hey. You're pretty." I wanted to say, "Does that work for you in real life? No. It doesn't. Because that's why you're here!" lol

ETA: I know SO many people that have met their spouses on dating websites and they've been married for years! I think there are benefits to the matching systems they have.   Go for it!

I love reading all the success stories   Not that I'm looking for anything serious at all. LOL last night I was ready to give it a go, then I changed my mind after posting this topic, and now I'm back to thinking I should give it a go...

I think you absolutely should, but just don't go to a free site. I'm like you with it.. I went to sign up for e-harmony, and there was some error so it wouldn't charge my card.... I got to read about my "matches" anyway... I hated them. Oh, and I had signed up in 2007. In 2010 after losing my son, I resigned up to find out that E-harmony had matched me with my son's DIPSmurf father. He left me 9 weeks pregnant and knocked up another broad. Never met him... lol So SCREW E-HARMONY!! lol
Plus my DD's dad is on there with a pic of her saying what a WONDERFUL dad he is... he NEVER sees her. Ever. And he was on there while WE were dating... so it really turns me off... but I guess that's just the risk you take in life in general.
