I'd let Emily die. Sounds sick saying it but its just how I feel. Why kill a healthy "child" for a chance of saving a sick one? It's not even a deffinite to wrk.

Let's say this was my situation and it was my 7 year old, who i love with all of my heart. He's been a part of me for 7 years now, and this new baby only a few months. I'd have no choice, I couldn't let my 7 year old die.
But I hope I'd never have to make a decision like that, let alone anyone else. That sounds horrible!

I couldn't allow myself to create life for the sake of it being used. The only reason to have a baby is by accident, or because you're ready to open your heart up to a bigger family. I wouldn't have a baby to save a marriage, much less to save another child's life. That is putting way too much on one little package.

What if it doesn't work? I don't know that I wouldn't resent the living child for not being enough to save the one I had, if I was already that desperate to save her.

well i think it sad to put another child at risk but at the same time using just the cord blood cells would hurt harm them . but you have to really want the other baby as well, other wise how would that child fill the rest of its life.

I couldn't live with myself if after choosing to kill my unborn to save my older dying child that they only end up dieing a couple weeks,months, years later...
It's not worth it to me.
I'd do anything f for my child but I couldn't ring myself to create another child just to swipe cord blood, organs, and bone marrow from them. Sounds like the child is a lab rat. They have no say in their own body...sounds wrong.

It's pretty wrong, but it's absolutely plausible.
You could literally force your child to donate an organ and they have no say in it whatsoever.

Exactly what she said. I would NEVER "create" a child. How could you do that? That's like playing God for all the wrong reasons.

I wouldn't of gotten pregnant just to cure my first child, as morbid as that sounds. So I chose 'other'.

I would deliver, the theoretical baby is past the time of viability, and I wouldn't lose a child I already have in order to save a baby that will most likely be fine with medical intervention, anyway.

I'm wondering if all the people choosing to save the living child by creating another to basically use them as their personal organ,blood and marrow bank is also pro circumcision?
It's the same smurf really...youre taking advantage of the child by using their body without their consent forcing them to do something. Cord blood is one thing but the topic also said that the unborn would also be used for other things. So of that che survived at 27weeks and Emily got sick again a few months later....what then? Lol.
I just can't see how anyone could just take advantage of a child in such an extreamly way.

The only reason I brought up the circumcision thing is because I do know thy a few ladies in here are strongly anti circ because it's against the child rights to their own body. Regardless of one being cosmetic and one being an actual surgery thatll only benefit another being it still falls under the same category of taking advantage of their bodies.

I would never make another baby in the first place. Thats some BS in my opinion. My daughter might die, but I wouldnt sacrafice another child to MAYBE keep her living. I am not God ..
