Start talking early. Keep it age-appropriate. I don't necessarily think the answer is to just PUT a daughter on birth control, unless she's already acting out. It is a medication and not always appropriate for every individual. It also might give her the message that you don't trust her to make her own choice in that respect.

If the dialogue is open, make it clear that she can come to you. You won't ask questions, and you won't judge her. If she comes to you, you'll take her to the doctor and put her on the right birth control for her. That way, it is her choice, rather than you saying you don't trust her to be able to control herself.

Do you get what I'm saying?

Obviously, if she's already acting out and at risk, another approach is the answer, but if she is in general a good kid...that's my feelings on it.

By teaching them to respect themselves and their futures enough not to smurf around with stuff that can mess up EVERYTHING. Start early! Teach them their value. Teach them the value of an education and hard work. Teach them the value of themselves. And respecting you and their elders is important, too, because they don't want to disappoint you.

Yes, that is what I meant.   Obviously if she feels no need to be on it I wont put her on it. My mom did that to me and I decided to have sex just for that simple fact.

I have to wonder about the logic of calling a vagina a cupcake or a biscuit. But yeah....

I have a couple nieces with "teetees." As apparently that was common to the family and I was a late-comer to the whole thing, it was a major wtf moment for me.

There is no smurfing way I could refer to a vagina as a 'teetee' lmfao. Ohmahgawd. Not even call a penis a 'peepee.' Because pee is, well, pee.

lol He was the one who called it a peepee because he wouldn't say penis. It got stuck in my head and we use them both. But I've often wondered about that one, too, and snickered at the same logic. Especially when I ask him to go peepee in the potty. Ah, the English language, so much fun, especially when we make up words.

I don't even know how anyone came up with teetee, but the first couple times I heard it, I thought I was hearing wrong (I am not from the South and they all are, so I thought it was a trick of the accents I was still getting used to). But no. That was a new one on me.

LOL Thank you. I get a lot of crap for it, but I really think this is the root of avoiding teenage problems, and it starts at birth!

Education, respect, and open communication.

oh I must've missed where you said your son calls it a peepee   I was just saying that as an example.

It'd be hard for me not to bust out laughing at that though LOL

He quite enthusiastically uses either peepee or penis to refer to it. He's 3 1/2. LOL

I think Biscuit is worse, though. I mean...calling female genitalia food? I heard that one on Honey Boo Boo. "We call it a biscuit, because, you know, it looks like a biscuit." Ugh.

Really you get crap for it?! I love it. Because of you my kids will have a bit of a better upbringing. I'm not being sarcastic. I love what you said and intend to use your words of wisdom to my advantage.
