Any tandem babywearing mamas-baby and toddler?

posted 8th Oct
Any moms on here that babywear a younger toddler and newborn? My son will be under two when his sister is born and is the biggest monkey when it comes to a shopping cart(plus I don't like grocery store germs:-D). I feel like such a hippy wanting to do this but anyways- I own a Ergo(which i LOVE) and a ring sling and moby wrap. Honestly not a fan of moby wrap as I hate wrapping it on the go, the ring sling was great when I only had one but once I had two I couldn't lean over to help the first comfortably/carefully and I doubt it would go well with a ergo so I am considering a mei tai for the fact that it is more breathable and less bulky than ergo (my only ergo complaint!) and I thought the mei tai would wrap easier than a moby and go well with a ergo(I am thinking my son would be on my back in ergo and daughter on front in mei tai-although right away she might be in ergo with insert). What do you baby wearing mamas love?

I don't have two yet but that's awesome you're looking to tandem babywear   I'd want to but I'd probably end up falling over or collapsing under two kids haha

I tired wearing both, and it was really uncomfortable and to hot. I wore my toddler in the ergo on the back and tried a moby and a mi tie in the front. It honestly did not work for me. I just wore my toddler and kept the baby in his carrier when in the store or on a walk, and wore the baby at home.

Sorry about that.
It's soft structured carrier, or a buckle carrier, such as an Ergo

thanks ladies:-) one of the reasons I was/am leaning towards a mei tai besides more breathable and etc. is because I sew a lot and saw a pattern for interchangeable paneled mei tai, and then I could put girly prints on it or a boy one if I decided the toddler does better in it:-),I have far too many projects to do-but its all stuff I want and cant afford to buy new. Pinterest should also die for feeding my addiction.

can I ask how old your daughter on your back is/how much she weighs?.. how hard is it to move around?... I can handle pretty much weight and thankfully it will be the beginning of febuary so hopefully I wont be too warm( i hope) my 18 month old is 25ish pounds right now.

Then she was about 32lbs (27 months), the baby was around 20lbs (9 months). Carrying them both now has a time limit of around 20 minutes since together they're 60+lbs. I usually wear them both when I'm taking the bus since my double stroller doesn't fit, or if I just don't want to pull out the double stroller for our walks. Around the house they take turns
