Just as an FYI, the reason spelling matters is because it'll make your kid's life in school and in a career that much harder when people have no damn clue how to spell it or pronounce it.

Spelling a name differently doesn't make it unique or better than the original spelling. It just makes the parent look like an idiot for butchering a name's spelling so badly.

You're just fueling the fire... and when you come in here and post spelling "April" like "Apryl" then yes, people are going to say something. You asked opinions, and you are getting them. Don't like it...? Don't ask for opinions.

Changing the spellings of names does not make them unique. They still get pronounced the same way, only difference is it makes the parent look uneducated and illiterate

Maricella is my sister in laws daughters name. It can be spelt with one L or LL It doesnt matter I even asked my mother in law in Mexico.. I want a unique name and she said with one L it would be unique cause Its spelt with 2 inMexico..

I looked up online and different unique books I bought and Apryl was one of the ways to spell April.. I Don't want something common I want something different..

Then look for uncommon names, not uncommon spellings. The spelling is just going to annoy you to death (believe me, I know).

Using a popular name with an unpopular spelling doesn't make it any more unique. Find a name that is actually uncommon.
