We live in an apartment building, and one boiler turns the heat on for all of the apartments. Most places do it by how cold it gets.

Lazy smurfs like our fabulous superintendent wait until the state mandated day, which over in NY and NJ is October 15th.

I've never lived in a building that works that way, so I'm counting down the days. It smurfing sucks.

Yeah, I'm pretty damn pissed. We have no control over it. Once they turn the boiler on, we can control the heat in the apartment. But until then, nada.

I've never lived in an apartment or house like this, so I was freaking out until SO informed me that this is nothing new in most NY and NJ apartments.
