I am washing even the new things. Simply because I don't know who touched the clothes before I did, where the clothes came from, etc.

All clothes should be washed before wearing newborn or not. You dont know who has touched them or where they have been. Dropped on the floor, sick employee hanging them up. Its just gross.

I washed everything, because think about all the people who may have touched those clothes in the store before you bought them. To me its just better to be safe.

I washed everything. I wasn't for sure if they had chemicals on them or not. A lot of new clothes in the store are sprayed with chemicals to keep bugs and stuff away when they are made and shipped.... at least thats what my mom always said. GL

I'm surprised that more adults don't wash their new clothes before wearing them for the first time!

I agree with washing everything. Especially after the bedbug outbreak last year.

We don't wash new clothes in our home. I know a lot of people who don't.

I always used Dreft and the Purex Baby laundry soap. Now that the twins are older I just toss everyones clothes in together with All free and Clear without any scents. I use a fabric sheet that's free of perfumes and dyes or none at all.

Still surprised!    I've noticed that the majority of people don't... but, just think of all the germs, dirt, and even chemicals that can be on them!!
