re: wanting to be induced.

posted 8th Oct
With my first, the idea of being induced and picking their birthday was a nightmare for me. I couldn't imagine choosing something that was suppose to happen naturally.. kwim? But this time around, I'm dying for an induction date. So I definitely understand, now that the shoe is on the other foot.

But be warned, inductions are much harder on the body than letting things just happen.

I wouldn't be induced only cos mine sucked and needed a c-section after 3 failed attempts lol, not all suck though.

I'm having my second section early dec, so I know what you mean about wanting to know what date/day your babie will be here!!

Good luck with whatever you do.

My first induction I was told one day before my due date to go in. It was painful.
My second I went in bc I thought my water broke. They saw I was dilated 3cm. They had be walk and would check me again to see if I progressed or not in order to let me go home. I walked abt 30 mins before I had to stop bc of contractions getting closer and stronger. They checked me and I was at a 6. My doc wanted to induce and I wanted to go natural. She said bc of baby's size it was better to induce. It was worse than my first, the labor was longer, pains stronger.
I wish both times I could have gone naturally. I think it's more painful if you are induced bc your body is forced into labor.
A freind of mine went into labor 2 wks before her due date. Her baby had to be in the NICU bc he couldn't breath on his own. I just think it's better to wait, even if something like that happend, where baby comes early, at least you kept him in as long as you could.   Good luck.

No problem. I like having things planned out in general. I make lists for my lists.   But really, in all honesty, no, you can't "control" a newborn.. but there are aspects during that time that you CAN control, and you'll learn how.   Best of luck to you!

My induction was nothing like I planned. I actually hope to avoid being induced this time.

I view it like this, I have an agenda and I'd like to stick to it...my 3 year old, however, would rather take a marker to my agenda...and the walls lol

My almost 6 month old just likes to take a smurf on mine altogether. If that makes you feel better, lol.

I was taught pretty quickly that the 1st rule in parenting is to NOT plan anything because it will almost always be stuffed up by something. lol

best of luck and i hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly.
