My LO is 4 and we only have one child so this is probably why it's easier for my to discipline with time outs and using the whole not wanting me to be disappointed. There aren't any other siblings to intervene in his punishments or make him feel he's right. lol

I spank and I also know the difference from spanking and abuse. We also use it as a last resort, I was also spanked as a kid.

and that does make a huge difference i think too... the whole sibling thing, cause my oldest was always well behaved and listened to us before we had other kids... and then the non listening started....
