Birth Control Options

I have my 6 week pp doctor appt in a few days and I'm getting on birth control.
Though, I have heard negative things about almost all options and have experienced bad things with both the patch - it would fall off, and the pill- it made me bleed nonstop.
I have heard the shot makes you gain weight and that's the last thing I need and also, I have heard that the nuvaring comes out easily.
What are yours thoughts? What have you tried and what are you on?

I have a tubal.  

I'm on Mirena, it sucked ass the first few months when I wouldn't stop bleeding but now I love it.

Most birth controls will cause some degree of weight gain. They mess with your hormones. Have you looked in to implanon or mirena?

I think that's probably what I'm going to get is one of those ^ unless someone talks me into something else lol

i signed papers at my last dr appt to get a tubal when lil man is born. my 5yr old is a depo shot baby and my 11 month old is a Mirena baby so im getting fixed cause birth control obviously has failure issues with me

I was on birth control pills for 13 years straight. I had no problems and absolutely no weight gain, no matter how many different brands I tried. How long were you on it? And what kind? It's completely normal to have constant bleeding when you first start taking them, until your body adjusts to the different hormone levels. It's different for everyone though. When I started taking Seasonique (only 4 periods a year was great), I was bleeding throughout the first 3 months. After the first "cycle" of those, I was very happy with this type of birth control and can't think of one thing negative about it. ?The pill isn't good for anyone who is forgetful.. I had an alarm set on my phone every day, even after 13 years. This not only reminded me to take it, but the effectiveness is best if taken at the same time every day.


So, why am I 34 weeks pregnant now? I married an idiot for a week and 1/2 and he decided to throw away my birth control. I had to wait 3 months to fill it b/c I just started a new pack... I had ONE period (off of the pill) in January and my baby boy will be here next month!! I'll be back on the pill right away!!

I dunno... probably ust to try and keep your body regular? I've always had to start my pills on the first day of my period.
