Uh, you generally won't get an ultrasound this far along. And I'm sure the doctor would be able to tell if the baby was breech or not.

They can tell if the baby is breech without an ultrasound. It's normal to be in pain and have discomfort this late in the game.

He can tell by feeling if she is breech

Honestly, he sounds like a normal doc. Most don't do a US at the end of pregnancy, unless there is a complication

pain is normal at the end of pregnancy. Just gotta deal with it

She'll tell you if there is any complications. Why don't you just ask her? You don't need an ultrasound if there isn't any serious problems.

No, your doctor is not an idiot. U/S are rarely performed this late without a medical need and just by measuring your belly and feeling around for the heartbeat he can tell if your baby is breech.

You don't get an ultrasound to determine the babies position.

Typically the doctor can tell just by touching your stomach, takes about 2 sec.
If he can't tell then you get an ultrasound.
But, babies can be delivered breech so he may be confidant and not care.

Idk what you want him to do about your pain , you are pregnant, smurf hurts.

They don't need to do an u/s to see if the baby is breech.

Doesn't sound like an idiot at all...

Yep. Ditto to this.

I'm sorry you're uncomfortable, those last few weeks can be rough. Hang in there.

It's normal to not get another ultrasound after 20 weeks. And your Dr can tell what position baby is in just by feeling your belly and they brush off the complaints of pain because you're 9 months pregnant. It is supposed to be painful not a walk in the park

You rarely need an u/s at the end. Often they can tell by feeling the belly if the baby is breach or not. Also, I'm sorry to say, but at the end the pain is pretty bad. That's really normal. It is almost over though!! When was your last u/s? A lot of times if they have no reason to do another they won't. Also, u/s's are a HUGE guess as far as weight. they can be 2lbs off either way, so one doesn't really tell you if you'll need a csection.

They honestly use that as a way to get people to have cseections who really might not have needed them. There is really no way to know if he'll fit until they try.

They can tell the babies position without an ultrasound. i never got one that far. He's probably brushing off the pain cause it's usally a normal thing this far in the game

You need to speak up and ask questions!! Doctors can tell just by feeling your belly how the baby is. And it is TOTALLY normal for you to be uncomfortable and miserable this close, there is NOTHING he can do about it. Doesn't make him an idiot, makes him a normal doc. If you are concerned about being breech, speak up so he can put your mind at ease.

Docs wont do much for pain. Mine just told me to relax as much as possible with DD1. I couldn't get out of bed, go to the bathroom, get in and out of the shower by myself I was in so much pain. You just deal with it.

I am due on Nov 11 and I just had an ultrasound done. I am high risk with my age and lupus. All they do for me when I go into my apt is measure me and check the heartbeat. So where in TN are you?
