implanon or

My 6 week check up is in 3 weeks and that is when I will be needing to get birth control. I'm leaning toward either the implanon or maraina but other then the scientific stuff on their web sights I really have no idea how they effect you. I was n the pill but I hate having to remember to take it every day and I'm allergic to most condoms so what advice do y'all lady's have as far as the once and done type of birth control?

I've had both and hated both.
Mirena:
Terrible mood swings
Constant back pain
No sex drive
Hurt to have sex
DH could feel it
Lots of weight gain
The only thing I liked was that I didn't have a period at all.
Implanon:
I bled for pretty much 10 months straight
LOTS of migrains
Severe depression
A little weight gain
I've found out the pill works best for me. I have an alarm set on my phone so I remember to take it.

Do anything but the Depo shot! I only had one shot and I spent the whole 3 months thinking I was pregnant. Pregnancy symptoms are one of the many side effects that really suck with that thing. I couldn't stand it so instead of getting the second shot I went on Paragard. I have been on that for a month and so far I like it.

The Depo shot? Its called Depo Provera and its injection they either put in your arm or your hip/butt that you have to get every 12 weeks. Its just has progesterone in it and not estrogen. About 99% of people I have talked to that have had it think its the devil and would never get it again.

What's the paraguard? I'm already against the depo when you mentioned shots lol

Oh lol. The Paragard is the copper iud that is non hormonal and will not effect your cycle. You will have heavier periods for like the first year but after that they are suppose to be normal. I am on it because I want to still have my period(I never got it while on the Depo) so I have that security blanket of knowing Im not pregnant. Plus I have to take something without estrogen because I have health issues so I can't take it.
