I'm opting for no swing at all. I know DD will try to climb in it and break it. Lol

We had a swing. My son used it once and screamed the whole time. Just depends on the kid.

We bought both for little K. I have regrets on both. Bouncer he never took to so we got a few uses out of it and I ended up selling it for less than 1/2 of what I paid for it

The swing he loved until recently only because he cant sit up more. I'm kicking myself for getting a cradle swing. So now I have this huge contraption in my house that barely gets used. I might take it to a consignment shop.

If you get a swing I suggest getting one that you can change the back on to make it lay down or sit up. Like the graco sweetpeace .

He'll be going to daycare when I go back to work and they have swings and stuff so if he prefers or likes it then I guess I can judge it from that?

My Son didnt like his bouncie, but loved his swing. I have heard that alot of babies are the other way around, so I think we are going to get both. It would be my luck to just get one, and have my baby hate it lol.

Oh yeah! I would wait then, see if he takes to a specific one at day care then make your decision. :-)

Unless he's this inconsolable kid who does nothing but cry, then I'll be desperate and opt for any device/whatever that we can get

Our swing was very close to the floor and my daughter would play with it (she was almost 22 months when my son was born). She didn't break it and we have some wonderful pictures of the two of them in the swing together  .

OP: I found it very helpful to have them all over my house. We had a swing in the living room and it was used for a little while most days. The bouncy seat was upstairs so I could bring him into the washroom while I showered or bathed my older child.

Do you have a friend with a swing that you can try out once your baby is born? Or, better yet, borrow one for a few months?
