the couple from upstairs KEEPS coming to our house and asking to use our phone. The first time...Sure, I'll be nice, I understand smurf happens. But...the fifth and sixth? Uhh, really? We have minutes. Plus, they take the phone up to their apartment to use it...and then bring it back down.

Next time ask them if it is a life or death emergency then say I can't keep letting you guys use out phone- or don't answe the door

Tell them sorry, but it can only be used in emergencies only, you have limited minutes. Our upstairs neighbors suck too. Their cigarette smoke always comes into our house.  

if they come to the door say the phone is dead. (would be funny though as you say that the phone rings lol)

I like the last one. They have a son with special needs so I know it must suck not having a phone. But.....I'm not about to sit and pay for someone else's phonecalls.

two sorry my phone is disconnected since I ran up my minutes or if you can say it was beacuase of them see if they get the point. I mean you can say anything that pops in your head. Is your phone your money and you dont have to let anyone borrow it for their personal needs especially take it upstairs. WTF sorry but you are getting used but bad and the sad part is that you are allowing them to use you.

My downstairs neighbors keep asking for cigs everyday and I know all 4 of them have jobs. The first couple of times I was like yeah sure. But now it's like and everyday thing...
Now when they come up to ask for them I tell them I'm out or only have a few left.
