period confusion!

1st let me say I had my tubes tied in May 2010. Ok, I had my period on 9/15/12 and it was normal but then I got another lighter period on 9/30/12. This has never happened to me my whole life. So I went to my gyno and she's checking my thyroid but didn't seem concerned and didn't even give me an exam. So should I expect my next period when it was originally due or did my cycle start over on the 30th?
