Age gap relationships? D&D
posted 8th Oct
Yep, that's the new politically correct term for May-December relationships. I started thinking about them because my friend (26 years old) is now in a relationship with a 49 year old man. 23 year difference.
I have said it before, I like older men and when I was 18, I dated a 36 year old man and if something ever happens between me and DH (been talking lately about seperation for many reasons), I think I would go for someone in the 45-50 year old range (I'm 26).
What do you think about agrs? Does it make a difference if everyone involved is over 18? Would you ever date anyone much older or younger than yourself? Do you judge people with a significant age gap dating? What do you consider a significant age gap?

I won't date anyone younger than me, not even by a year or two
I'm 29 and I would date over 35 but under 45. Unless they were smokin hot, then I could see me dating up to a 55 year old. (but they have to be hot and awesome in bed)

I'm 21 and my husband is 29. We started dating when I was 15, he was 23. I know people don't agree, but Ihonestly don't give a smurf. we're happy, and that's what matters.
The biggest age difference for me, personally is 10 years. I don't think I could do any older than that. I was with a man 15 years older than me once, and it was awkward. but that might have been because I was 15. *shrugs*

I'm 5 years older, and it's kind of weird to think that when I was graduating HS and working this guy was in middle school being a kid.

I prefer not to date anyone younger then me or even the same age. I'm 26 and if I were to be single right now the oldest I would date would be 39.

I don't care about any else but myself. For myself.. the best age gap is about a year. I've been with older and younger and about the same age is by far the best.

You were with a 30 yr old at 15?

DH is 3 years older
I couldn't date someone in their 40-50s. Not because I think its wrong but because I'm not attracted to older men lol

The dumb saying "age is a number" is true to a point. As long as they are both legal adults I don't care. But a 29 and a 14 year old shouldn't be together, KWIM?

We are 11 months apart. I was born 10/29/82, he was born 9/27/83. idk, ever since i started dating, i had a 3 year "rule". nobody more than 3 years older/younger than me. now that i'm close to 30, i'd push it to 5 years...if i were looking, that is

I think it depends a lot on the people.
Maturity and what you want out of life differs from person to person. If you two are on the same level and are seeking the same things out of your lives then the age difference doesn't really matter.

I think you love who you love & that's fine as long as it's legal!
Personally, I'm more attracted to younger guys I don't think I would want to be with someone much older me or old enough to be my father, but that's just me!

I'm 3yrs older than my SO. I totally prefer younger guys. I'm so gonna be a cougar when I'm in my 50s-60s lol. But, age never really bothered me. I just couldn't date anyone older than my dad or younger than 18.
Out of curiosity, why do you ladies prefer older men? (OP sorry bout piggybacking your thread)

We are about 9-10 yrs apart so it's not that much of a gap. BUT lots of people, who are younger dont realize that they better be very much in love and have lots of affection later in life when the gap of interests and abilities becomes more apparent.
Lots work out and lots don't.
