How long into seeing someone should you start making yourself a little unavailable?

I just got a message from a guy I'm seeing "Smurf, don't try so hard that's the key"

It got me thinking a little bit maybe I am trying too hard with him.. I had no idea what he meant by that, but I'm assuming that's what it was.. Does this mean if he's giving me tips, maybe he lieks me a little bit, because if a guy was soo annoyed wouldn't they just say see ya? lol Help me out, I haven't dated for 10 years.

I dunno, for me, I would say he's telling you to back off in the most polite way as possible.

Are you getting dressed up and putting on make up and trying to be perfect around him?? If you are, that might be what he means....

I don't play games when I date. I was the "I'm available and if you don't like that then don't date me." kind of girl.

Idk I always made myself hard to find. I had one guy that had no means of finding me I told him I'd find him if I wanted to. It was always my thing. Then bam met dh and hardly spent a day apart

I always feel like the guys that I'm not interested in or try very hard with replying back to texts/calls are the ones that have always acted the most interested in me.
Maybe he's letting you know that he wants to do more of the work in pursuing this? So, yes, I think he's giving you tips.

Maybe he just wants you to be more of yourself? Like "relax" and not feel like you have to act/look a certain way every time you are together.

Honestly how I normally dress....

I mean I've dressed up a couple of times but... I don't know

we met on Plenty of fish, we've been talking on there sending txts and seeing each other since July... I just updated my profile with some "hot" pictures, lol .. maybe that's what he meant
