7 year old still peeing the bed

Any suggestions on how to stop our 7 yr old boy from peeing the bed. We have noticed one thing, if hes cold he is more likely to pee the bed, so in the summer no fans and in the winter, heater on him, but he still has accidents and my hubby gets up to take him to the bathroom in the middle of the night and we don't let him drink to much before bed.... one thing that doesn't help is his mother has him wear night time diapers at her house, even for our 4 yr old who doesn't have accidents at all, so we are trying our best on our end any other suggestions?

I think I'd put the diapers on him till he stops wetting the bed, though.
Restrict his drinks earlier so he doesn't have to pee, maybe.

It's embarrassing, but I did until I was 10 or 11. What finally stopped it was no drinks after dinner and a reward chart.
But if the mother is doing something different it's probably not going to change until everyone is on board with the same plan.

We just put a plastic sheet on his bed so when he pees the bed we just change the sheets and have him change his clothes, I want him to be proud when he doesn't pee the bed and feel he doesn't need to wear a diaper like a baby.....

His dad pee'd the bed until he was older as well and I know it just happens to some kids, but I just want to try and help him figure it out so he will stop, we congratulate him when he doesn't and he gets so excited when he doesn't!

Don't let him drink at all for about 2 hours before bed, make sure he has nice warm jammies, wake him up at least twice a night to pee, get a waterproof mattress pad. Those should help, but remember that his bladder is still growing and may not have grown as much as it needs to to stay dry all night. He also might just be a heavy sleeper and not notice he needs to pee, thus waking him up to go potty would be a good idea. And if he's shifting from your house to his mothers house, it could just be stress. Even if it looks like he's coping well during the day, wetting the bed is usually a good sign that a child is stressed beyond their control.
You really need to find out the reason and work from there.

I know for a fact that he is stressed due to his mother.... thats a whole different story, but hes been peeing his bed even before everything happened. I do agree about the bladder thing, never thought of it but that definitely makes sense. We will just have to make him very, very warm all the time so when he gets cold he doesn't curl up and then pee to get warm, and hes definitely a heavy sleeper...
