best way to side car a crib

posted 8th Oct
We cannot put it between the wall and bed because with the shape of the room the only way we could that is if the crib is over a heating vent. And were not gonna do that. I've read online you can secure the crib to the bed with bungee cords but that seems kind of iffy to me. Any ideas of how to secure it any other ways? TIA

Please no crap about co-sleeping, I always have and we always practice safe co-sleeping.

Why don't you just put the baby in your bed or get a bed side sleeper?

lol it's ok, i understand. To sidecar a crib is when you remove one side of the crib and push it up against your bed to pretty much make a big co-sleeper.

I've seen some people do it with bungee cords and it worked very well. They actually used two baby mattresses so the crib mattress would be leveled with te beds mattress them they ran a bungee cord from under their bed frame to the crib. It was really secure. They had a small gap because they took the front side of the crib off so the mattresses would hug eachother. So to close the small gap the gap between the back of the crib and mattresses they bought industrial foam, cut it to size and she covered it with the cribs mattress cover. You could even tell the difference.

Baby is in the bed with us now, but his big sister is starting to have really bad nightmares and making her way to our bed. DH doesn't really want to buy a bed side sleeper since one of his friends was telling us how they used their crib.

It worked well for them and it looked like those bedside cribs but bigger and lasted them do much longer then those other side cribs would have. She also said it was more comfortable sleeping because her son had his own space and they had theirs to move around in.
