ugh....why is it? pointless rant

posted 8th Oct
Why is it that women who have not tried to get pregnant think it's going to be so easy.

I hAve a friend that JUST got married and now they want to try for a baby. She want to her doctor on Friday and her Dr. Told her all these things.

1. Don't use OPKs because they stress you out and you will never get pregnant that way.

2.weight has nothing to do with getting pregnant or having out of whack cycles (which I have heard being over weight for some women NOT all women can mess with hormones and that's why some don't ovulat E or cycles are super long.

3. Have sex every day after bleeding Stops to make sure you get pregnant. I thought that was bad idea? And CAN cause a low sperm count?

So now she is telling me, who has been trying for much longer than her how to have a baby.ugh

Sorry pointless rant!

1. without opks i would of never known when im ovulating.
2. weight can probably have nothing to do with it but it can have something to do with it.
3. we had sex every other day because the "boys" need another day to increase their sperm count.

we ttc for nearly 29 months.

Everyone has an opinion on EVERYTHING anymore lol! Don't stress it mama, I look at it this way when it's MEANT to happen it will! Hold your head up I honestly don't think someone who's been trying to conceive longer than someone newly married has figured out what may and may not work! I also heard that some women who are bigger can have a hard time conceiving due to hormones and such being out of whack!

If the man doesn't have sperm count issues than Bd everyday is fine.

Weight can cause issues that can make it more difficult to conceive (PCOS anyone?)

Stress can cause cycle changes.

If someone has typical fertility the above is correct, there is no reason to believe that she will have trouble conceiving and for some people it really is that easy. I am one of those "look at me the wrong way" and I get pregnant girls.

To me is sounds like maybe you are irritated that it might just be that easy for her and it hasn't been for you. I apologize if that seems brash, I know it must be a difficult thing to deal with.

1. Really depends, OPKs aren't bad but I never used them when TTC. We just went with the flow. But at the same time if you don't think you're ovulating they can be good.

2. Weight really could or could not have anything to do with TTC. I think it all depends on the person.

3. We just had sex whenever, sometimes every day. And sometimes not for a couple days. I don't think either really matters IMO.

It took us 5 months to conceive this one. The month I "gave up" because I was frustrated is when it happened. Relaxing can sometimes work wonders in speeding TTC along.

I agree with all your statements. I guess everyone will have some type of input. I offer up advice but I never tell people what they NEED to do!

Congrats To You love!

I think there's a lot of truth to that, too. We tried for well over a year, then gave up on it. Two or three months later I was pregnant!

May not be the case for everyone but I've seen that be true a LOT of different times. I guess I'm glad I gave up when I did. haha.

Everybody is different. Some people need to do all those things and my heart goes out to them. For us, we don't even try. If my husband looks at me too long I get knocked up lol. I got to get my tubes tied cause we have reached our max number, that we can handle. I put my faith in a higher power and have fun. The only thing I would tell a person is to not go pee after ( I know it sounds nasty but it works). To just lay there and go to sleep after. Wash in the mornin' and after about 2mo of doing that, baby is on the way.

I tried not Caring and just having fun. But now that after 3 years and actively trying for the past year that's why I think I might have something else going on

Have you had a fertility work up done??

I'm sorry you're going through that - I know how frustrating it can be!
