Ladies from UK

not being rude with the title... i just know things are different in america &other places compared to England...
What i want to know is when did your midwife/doctor give you a sweep/ clear your membranes??!
I see my midwife this week and will be 39+4 do you.think she will do it??

Does the midwives even do the sweeps? Lol or is it done in hospital

im having mine done tomorrow (41 weeks) depends on your midwife really but i doubt she will till least 40 weeks or may do it at 41 if you go over.....

with my last baby they was giving me mine the day b4 my due date but i went into labour early then with thi one they have booked me in for a week after my due date for strech n sweep.. n were i am from onlt a consultant at the hozi does them..

Is yours being done at your doctors surgery by your midwife or at hospital??
Im really hoping my midwife will do it...i know i will be a a couple of days short of 40weeks but i have sever sciatica an im in conastant pain and obviously being pregnant im limited to what pain relief i can take

Iv got one on friday an ill be 38weeks but im getting induced at 39ish wks. I also had one with my 1st baby at 38wks but i was induced the day after it. Think they normaly wait till ur due date unless ur having baby early.

A midwife did mine in the hospital at 41weeks 1day. I doubt she'll do it for you before your due date, I'm pretty sure over here that they don't like to do it before then. All the ones I saw said they wouldn't do it until I was at least a week overdue

I had a feeling that would be the case... hopefully little lady decides to arrive on her own soon then  

Ive got the midwife on thursday which is my due date but its not my regular midwife as she has decided to go on holiday. lol (how dare she lol)
But she said at my last appointment that this midwife would sweep me then, due to me trying for a Vbac. Im really hoping she does, but i will ask her if it doesnt come up x
no harm in asking right x
and if she wont ive got the consultant on the 15th who said we will discuss induction :-(
hopefully you get your sweep too. i dont think it matters if your a few day under your due date i think it will just depend on the midwife you see and there preference x

They said that about induction to me too, but they will ask when and if you want to book it and they told me they won't book it until you're at least 2weeks overdue, so hopefully that gives you plenty of time   mine was booked for 12 days overdue, cus of a bank holiday weekend, and I went into labour before it anyway, good luck!!
