BIL got on a phone plan with a friend of his. one of those if you recommend someone to the plan then you each get 50$. well, BIL told us today that when it came time for his upgrade, his friend took his upgrade. BIL pays for his entire bill and has covered part of his friends bill when they came up short (because they bought other stuff they didn't need). apparently his friend got his upgrade, didn't like it, so took BIL's upgrade without telling him about it. would you be pissed?

Yeah I would be pretty ticked off.

My friend and I have a shared account, we would never do that to each other.

I'm REALLY curious to the person(s) who said that this isn't smurffy, how in the world they can think it's ok. Especially since the buddy sure as hell isn't paying the bill half the time.

well, he wanted to do that but it would cost him 200$ that he doesn't have to cancel the contract...

Tell him he doesn't have to pay it. If your BIL isn't the primary holder, he has nothing to worry about. I was on a plan with my friend, things went sour, and she shut my phone off. She paid the cancellation fee... because I told her I wasn't doing it.

he only paid their part a time or two. seriously doubt he'll be doing it ever again.

Same thing happened to me when me, my SO, my mom & my sister were all on my plan. My sister took not only her, but mine, mama's & SOs upgrades... Then decided to turn her phone off. So my mom needed to upgrade her phone around 5 months later, come to find out she'd taken her upgrade, also. Of course, by then I had paid cash for me a new phone, & my mama wanted one, too. So she went to the store, and since my sister had used her upgrade, couldn't get one for free... So she chewed me out for ME taking her upgrade (when I had paid cash). I won't be on another plan, with anyone else besides SO ever again, for ANY reason. Don't smurf with my money.
