croup

hello ladies!!!!! im new so bare with me if this has already been posted!!

my soon to be one year old has croup and the dog like coughing is keeping me up all night since im such a light sleeper. the doc gave her a mild steroid to help heal her throat a bit quicker but does any one have any sugestions to minamise the cough???? and steam is doing NOTHING!!!!

any advice would be very welcome!

before she heads to bed for the might put her in her stroller and dress her very warm and take her out in the cold - it really helped my son when he had attacks and our doctor told us that other than steam this was the best thing to do for him .

The steam though - should be cool mist not warm mist, warm mist does nothing for croup !

Hope your little one feels better soon. Croup is no fun.

the cold hey? i would of never thought of trying that! on the steam frount we have a vapouriser so it is relitivly cool and is still not helping!

i use the baby vicks. rub her down with it at night
