For those who lost a lot of weight

posted 7th Oct
How much did you loose the first few weeks? What did you do to loose it? I know it is still early for me but I have been eating all healthy and doing the 30 day shred for 2 and a half weeks and have lost about 9 lbs.. I know that is good to others but for me it just is not happening fast enough... I have 120 lbs to loose.. It is going to be a long journey...

I lost about 40 lbs in about 6 months. I didn't realize it at first to be honest, only once I'd lost 25 lb.

I cut out soda and fast food, that's about it; VERY light exercise (parking my car farther away, walking around the long way to get to the printer at work, stuff like that). And using the same size plate as my kids helped a LOT

Losing weight slowly is very good.
I was really fit and skinny before having my son, but getting pregnant and not watching what I ate during my pregnancy made me gain over 60 lbs. At 3 months PP I started the 30DS and did it religiously and lost 13 lbs in 4 weeks. I have kept it off. After the 30DS I took a break (which I regret) and I have not lost any more baby weight. I have 13 lbs to go. I plan on doing a few more of JM dvds, Insanity, & P90X.

It's hard to lose weight, but in the end it's worth all the hard work and effort you put in.

BTW, 9 lbs is good!

I have just started using the kid plates and bowls. I am working on cutting out the junk for good this time. I am so sick of it and my body is letting me know it's tired of the crap I put in.

I killed myself the first month after giving birth with dieting and exercise. I ended up weighting 165 after delivery. By the time LO was a month and a half I was down to 120.

I have a lot of weight to lose but I'm going really, really slow and only doing 2 lbs a week so I don't starve/get discouraged/stop eating.

I have lost roughly 80lbs in 14 months. It is important to remember that losing too much weight too quickly can have adverse reactions to your health. Sounds like you're on the right path. Trust me I was anxious as hell to lose the weight and couldn't wait to be done, but you're just torturing yourself. I set up small goals for myself. Instead of saying I wanted to weigh x amount which was overwhelming thinking I had that much weight to lose, so instead I set small goals for myself. Example: instead of saying I want to lose 50lbs total I would strive to go one pant size smaller, or lose 10 pounds by x date. Be realistic with the goals too.

As the weight comes off and you begin to notice the difference your mindset will change, you will be excited looking at what you accomplished and look forward to seeing the next change. Takes pics as you go also. Full body ones so you can tell where the weight is coming off from

How did you do it? Can you give me an idea on what you ate? The food is the biggest thing I think I do not eat enough since I am scared to eat any carbs or something that could be bad...

Ye, it is gonna be a long journey for me too. I have to keep telling myself to keep going. I didn't put on all this weight in a few months(more like over the course of 4 yrs) so its not gonna take a few months to lose it.

I understand. I was a chunky child but slimmed up when I hit 13. Then after haveing 2 kids back to back(they are 11 months apart) I never lost the weight completely and my craveings never came to an end and that combined with the pill, I gained little by little over 4 yrs.(My kids are 6yrsold,5yrs old,and 3 1/2 months old) After I had my 2nd I got down to 179 lbs, well after her 1st birthday I started gaining little by little. I just had my 3rd baby 3 1/2 months ago and I am 230 lbs

I lost about 4 lbs my first week. I think maybe around 2 my second week. I used Turbo Jam and TurboFire mainly. They helped me to lose almost 40 lbs now.

A big part was just being aware of my portions. So started with reducing my portions by about 1/4-1/2. So instead of two scoops of mashed potatoes, I would only get one and a half, or just one. You don't want to reduce your portions too quickly, if you do that you will feel as if you're not satisfied after eating. You don't need to get to get full, eat to feel satisfied. It isn't good to fill yourself up like that, when you do that it expands your stomach and after doing that continually you will have to eat more to keep satisified.

Portions was a big part of it, and a great place to start. Do you drink any soda? If so, that is another biggie. Don't drink diet, it's a huge misconception that diet soda helps you lose weight, it actually doesn't, in fact it is very bad for you, well all soda is, but especially diet. If you drink, say, 4 sodas a day, then I would suggest cutting out one a day for a couple of days. Then cut one more, until you're down to either just one, or none if that is what you wish. Don't just stop cold turkey, especially if you are a longterm soda drinker, stopping cold turkey can induce caffeine migraines, and those are horrid.

I am more than happy to share with you how I lost my weight, so if you want, feel free to message me.
