Losing hope

posted 7th Oct
Where to begin...
I guess it all started last October. The last month I had a period.
After that, early this year, my doctor in NC on base put me on 5mcg of cytomel because my thyroid was going slightly hypo.
After only 2 weeks, they retested my blood, still hypo. And yea, that is not even long enough to regulate my hormones.
So she then bumped my dosage from 5.... to 25...
I dropped 15 lbs in two weeks, palpitations, sweats, in and out of the ER, literally felt like I was on the verge of death. And then came to find out, she made me OD on cytomel and I was actually very close to my heart failing from the extreme elevation of hormones.
I stopped my cytomel.
I slowly gained weight and am at a healthier 119 now.
Sadly, I have not gotten my period yet and a lot more symptoms have appeared.
Random throwing up, nausia, lactation twice this year, EXTREME migrains, feeling of an electrical shock through my skull, blurry vision at time, insomnia, I can not excersize more than 5 minutes without feeling like Im going to have a heart attack.
All of my blood work and hormone levels have some back normal... except HGH and insulin levels.
I can not have an MRI because I have a greenfield filter that is magnetic that was placed when I was in a coma.
I did have a CT scan that showed the right side f my pituitary gland is enlarged but my endo says nothing is wrong...
I have no idea where to go or what to do.
And I am losing all hope.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
I appreciate so much for anyone that has read this.
This is just extremely hard on my family and I.
I want a break :'(

I'm not sure what your other health issues were but my sister had a lot of the symptoms you are talking about and she had thyroid cancer. It took her over a year to get a diagnosis because all her bloodwork kept coming back normal and since she young (30) they kept telling her it was all in her head or anxiety or some other BS answer. Finally the tumor got big enough that they could feel it on a physical exam, she had it removed about a year ago and takes synthoid and is mostly fine now (still some issues with hormones)

I had a right thyroid lobectomy done in '08 due to nodules on my thyroid
My endo did am ultrasound and everything looks good, so I am completely lost. I have no more ideas of what it could be.

Agree I was going to say the same thing.....have they done a CT to see if theres a tumor or found a reason that youve gone hypo??? Usually a tumor whether cancerous or not can cause these symptoms. Not trying to get you all upset but it ould be a cause. @ weeks of a doseage of 25mg shouldnt make you overdose theres some kind of issue there. Also high insulin levels have they looked into your pancreas and possibly your spleen. Id demand a full workup if I were you maybe even change docs it sounds like u need a second opinion

they told my sister there's a chance that her cancer could spread to other areas in her body but still be thyroid cancer. Like it could be in her lungs but it wouldn't be lung cancer, it would be thyroid cancer in the lung. Could that be possible? Have you gotten chest x-rays? anything like that? have you seen a neurologist for your migraines? I see one and he set me up with a 24 hour heart rate monitor because I was having other issues. They could do a brain CT too since you can't have an MRI. He also checked me for MS, lupus, lyme disease, RA and a bunch of other stuff.

have they checked your potassium levels? when my sisters thyroid hormones get out of whack hers gets so low she gets very sick and needs to take liquid potassium several times a day. It sent her to the ER passing out several times, she also got heart palpitations from it
