I was asking questions because I was curious as to why some "teen moms" or young mothers feel the need to boast about their independence, not being rude or bitchy, just having a conversation. Why all the butthurt?

because teen moms have a stigma that they live at home and their parents take care of their kids - have you seen Teen Mom? This is probably something most people think that happens when you live with your parents and have a baby. Some teens take it for granted and still go out and party while their parents are left home with the baby. Some teen moms don't take financial responsibility and so then their parents have to. This is probably why she wanted to reassure people that even though she lives with her parents, she takes care of her daughter financially because at some point, I'm sure someone was going to mention it or make a stereotypical comment about it because she's expecting #2. I lived with my dad when I was pregnant and stayed with him til she was 19 mos. I also was capable of taking care of her financially. It's a stereotype that if you live with your parents/grandparents or whoever, that you can't financially take care of your kids. And I think she just wanted to mention that so no one assumed different.

Medicaid is considered assistance, but would you like to pay at $17,000 medical bill, just from labor?
Most people, even people that are not teen parents have medicaid...
