Medicaid & getting tubes tied

With Indiana, I know that medicaid can cover your tubes getting tied.

My question is... What is the requirements to getting them tied?

I've heard that you have to have had 2 kids already, then you have to have 2 kids & be 25.... blah blah blah.

Every practice is different.

Here, you have to have 1 kid, be 21, and sign the form at least 60 days before your due date so you don't do it last minute and regret it.

Same here. (WA) Well, 3 kids OR 25 i believe. (maybe i'm wrong)
that's what i was told with my last c-section on baby two when i wanted it done.
now this time, with baby 3, i'm getting it done.

According to my OB, you have to be 21 and have two kids. You also have to sign the paperwork a few weeks before you're due.

I dont know that there are state laws regarding this. I was almost sure they were federal after reading the paper I signed....three times and never went through with it.
I was not married when I signed it the 2nd pregnancy. I was 24. I think you have to be 21 if I am not mistaking.

Well, so far... It doesn't sound good. lol

I'm 20 and onto number 2. ( I will brag & say it's with the same man   ) but I'm not sure if we would want more or not. We've always talked about ONLY two.

We're considering our options.
1. Mirena
2. Getting fixed
3. Essure - which my doctor offers as a BC, but it's permanent.

He could get snipped. That's reversible in most cases if you change your mind

We want to do that, but he doesn't have insurance. Paying for his would be all out of pocket.

Have you asked your doc if they would do a tubal? Here they gave me an info packet and the info was in there

Hubs told me hell no when I asked him. I was like "So I got to go through the pain to have my kids and go through the pain of getting cut to get a tubal?" He just kissed me and said he loves me. hahaha

I was going to ask my last appointment and forgot. Just need to remember for next time...

My fiance actually brought it up. I think it's because he might possibly want more or something. Idk and who knows.

We already have 2 of our own & we would like to adopt one.
I'm just lucky I guess? lol.
He also does that when he wants to change the subject. "smooch - i love you!"

I was 22 with my last baby and one of the doctors in my practice told me that I was too young to get a tubal, even though she was my third baby. Another doctor in the same practice told me she would but I chickened out when it came time to sign the papers. This time around she told me that I meet both requirements, I'm 23 and this is my fourth, and just to let her know soon if I plan on getting it done. I'm having a c-section so it wont be too big of a deal.

The reason you have to let her know soon is because the paper has to be signed so many days prior to having your baby...that is law.
