late potty training

posted 7th Oct
Is there anyone in here who has a late starter on potty training? My son turned 3 at the end of July and he's still in diapers. I have tried everything and he is just NOT ready. I'm not too worried about it, maybe a little frazzled cuz diapers for 2 kids is expensive!! When should I start to worry about it?

BTW…? I hate parents choice diapers.. how's the Target brand? I just need a cheap good brand for him

TIA

IMO 3 isn't late on pting. All kids PT at different ages. 3 is a very normal age to start PTing. And boys often PT later than girls.

my son turned 3 August 3rd and he still isn't fully potty trained   He will go all day when we let him run around naked at home but as soon as we put anything on him he will go in it and not even bother to go to the potty

Personally I dont believe in "potty training" in the traditional sense. I let DD decide when she was ready to use the potty, she was 3 and 2 months when she decided to start using the potty I just reminded her to go for 3 days I asked her if she needed to potty once every hour, after that she had it down. I havent bought diapers since.

I've been on it since he was about 2 and a half...he will go sometimes when he sits on it..one time he surprised me took off his diaper and sat down and peed, but that's it. BD thinks its bad that he isn't trained, pffft he isn't here to help so screw what he thinks.

Thanks ladies for all your input. We will try target or luvs diapers next.

Try Luvs diapers. They're a lot like Pampers, smell good, and are softer than generics.

PS: He needs to obviously be trained before he goes off to school...that's about it. I'd try bribing with candy or getting cool character undies?

My son is 3 1/2 and still not poop-trained. When he was in diapers I used pull-ups to get him used to pulling them up and down even though he was going in them like regular diapers.
