Stylish Toddlers...

posted 7th Oct
What is your view on toddlers that are wearing stylish clothes...?
Today a lady at the store told me I shouldn't try shoving my own style on my child...which I guess I do, but thats cause I buy the clothes and shes not old enough to. Idk I was kinda bothered by it.

Also what is the most you guys will spend on your childrens clothes? I am obsessed with Zara kids but am having a hard time justifying the prices.

Well, dressing the kids in what I want ends by 2. My daughter picks out things that are TOTALLY not my style. Once they're old enough to like things I agree. I let her wear what she wants. It's why half the time she's wearing a tutu or a princess gown when we go anywhere.

Cost? Up to individual people.

Don't we all put our children in what we like them in until they can say what they want themselves?
I don't spend too much on clothes, at all.
Target is my best friend.

My sons wear what I buy them and if anyone has a problem with how I style them, they can buy their clothes lol.

I spend the most on shoes, my boys wear Jordans.

So I refuse to pay more than 10 dollars for anything, until she was 3 I wouldn't pay more than10 per outfit but as she gets taller clothing is more expensive.

when you go to the store to get clothes, do you buy what she wants or do you choose it??

Cause I let her pick what outfit to wear for the day, but I choose what clothes we buy.

I really don't think toddlers are stylish. Their parents are since they are the ones who dress them. I love certain types of clothes but I will not buy them for my small children so they can wear them for a couple of months. My kids grow quickly, most kids do. When my kids are older, I will buy them more expensive clothes on a regular basis. They do have a few pricey pieces already.

For the most part, I let them both dress themselves to encourage their independence and individual self expression.

I will dress Hailee in what I like until she starts telling me what she wants to wear. Most of her clothes come from Kohls, Target or Macy's. Every now and then she'll pick out a shirt or dress, but for the most part she doesn't really care, lol.

That's what I will spend the most money on. Shoes and my son's fitted hats.

She chooses a lot of it. I show it to her and she decides if she like it or not. I pick in that I say "we need this many shirts, this many pants" and I show her what fits. She says yes or no.

yeah I agree. Idk she was just making a comment on how we dressed very similar and then threw it out there that I shouldn't force my style on my child...

Its not harming her?? and yes sometimes were at the store and she will ask to get a disney tee... and I say no... cause I just don't like that style. and if that makes me a horrible mom then that sucks

idk, i like to have them look nice. I do feel kinda bad because he doesnt get a say sometimes. I hate character clothes...And i think its odd to see babies wearing sports clothes as if they are a fan or "future foot ball star" or whatever. idk, its harmless enough....just odd that you would want to label the child.

i think when he can express himself more if its not outrageous i will let him choose more of his own stuff, but for now ill just get what i think is cute.

as far as stylish, i hate it when people make their babies to be goth or whatever. i think that is pressing an extreme and obviously not too many kids start liking skulls and chains before they like bright colors and chatacters. Something like that i wouldnt push on him.

I generally buy boring clothes haha, we have a more plain style that he might not agree with when he is older, but a polo or t shirt /jeans/ hoddie is what we do. He likes stripes because of steve from blues clues haha. sometimes i get something with an animal on it or whatever that he likes.

ETA he doesnt really take notice so far as far as style. he did want these one dora shoes or whatever, i said no because they were too flimsy and he likes to puddle jump and winter is coming. aside from that he hasnt shown much interest yet. I will point out something on his shirt and he will be like, oh yeah! dinosaur! or whatever but thats as far as it goes.
