scoliosis surgury and giving birth????

Has anyone had scoliosis surgery and successfully given birth?

I had a patient who did. We knew there was a good chance she wouldn't be able to... but it went fine

Ive had two children and im currently pregnant. I have a metal rod in my back been there since i was 10. No problems. You can have children after surgery yes

How bad was your surgery?

I was cut from the top of my back to my butt. My spine was shaping towards an S. The doctors told my mother i wouldnt make it to 18 if i didnt get the surgery.

I'm fused from T4-L4 if that means anything. I have a high risk Dr that thinks its gonna be difficult for me because I can't bend or twist or anything. I wont be able to have an epiderial so I don't know what there going to do. I was told at 13 to try and not have any kids that it would do more damage.

I have a rod in me bc back then idk if they fused. I cant get an epidural but ive had natural births. I was never told i shouldnt have children but i guess each case is different.
