Checking HCG levels after MC

This is about a friend of mine, I'm just super curious what others experiences are because I've never had a MC. She had one 2 months ago and her OB likes to check their levels every week till it's down to 0. Well, like I said, it's been 2 months and she's still having to get her blood drawn every week. She said 2 weeks ago it was 1.3 then last week it went up to 1.9, so she has to go in AGAIN this week. What are your experiences with this? What if her levels aren't at 0 this week, what does she need to ask her OB? She's totally fed up with going in every week.

I never had my levels checked after my miscarriages, but if I remember correctly, anything below 5 is not considered pregnant, so that slight increase doesn't really mean anything.

She doesn't feel like it means anything either but she also doesn't understand why they keep wanting her to come back in if it doesn't mean anything.

They probably just want to make sure that there isn't anything left from the miscarriage. She doesn't have to go back. I never did. Too damn expensive.

I told her if it were me, I would tell them I'd be back in a month if they really wanted to check up on it.

She shouldn't have to be checked anymore. Anything below 5 is considered not pregnant. If I was her I would refuse anymore blood tests. It is normal to have small amounts of HCG in your system

She said if they're not at 0 she's going to request they do other testing if they're still concerned and if they aren't then she probably won't go back. I was just curious about others' stories

Anything under 5 is considered not pg. She doesn't HAVE to keep going in and she should discuss it with her dr.

Has she had an AF since her m/c?

My beta the day I started my m/c were 3200 (at 7w even). 2 weeks later they were in the 600s, 30 days after m/c they were 67.1. Had AF 3 days later and 4 weeks later I got a BFP and today I'm 8w even (due 19 May)  

She hasn't had a period since her MC either
