4 month old in a hot tub?

posted 7th Oct
Would it be ok to bring my 4 month old into my parent's hot tub? I am going there later today and we are both sick with upper respiratory smurf. I thought the hot tub might help that plus she might have fun in it, AND I haven't gone in one in forever since you can't go in while you are pregnant and then it was summer. What do you ladies think? They have a baby flotation thing too

It will make the baby sleepy. I learned that the hard way with my niece when she was a baby.

No, you can not. I would have your mom or dad just bring the baby out while you are in the hot tub so it can breath in the steam that would help.

I wouldn't. It will raise her temp a lot. Maybe hold her up out of the water so she still gets the steam, but isn't in the water herself.

honestly i have a four year old and wont let her in the hot tub. I might be a little uptight but id rather be safe than sorry. youre not supposed to get into a hot tub when your pregnant because its a safety hazard for the baby INSIDE of you... just imagine that babies bare skin in such hot water. dangerous.

Hot tubs aren't even recommended for adults longer than 10-15 minutes. I would say not until she's much older. Absolutely never would I put a kid under two in a hot tub.
