I only have 14oz of the tomatoes needed, not 28oz. I do have regular tomatoes that I can chop, and I also have a tomato sauce (spaghetti sauce, basically.)
Would you just spread the bottom of the pan with some of the canned, and then top with the freshly chopped tomatoes? Or would you spread the bottom of the pan with a little plain sauce, and then top with the canned tomatoes and one or two extra chopped tomatoes?
Sorry if that makes no sense. This recipe is AWESOME. I've made it once before, but now that I'm making it for someone else and I forgot 1 ingredient...I'm worried I'll mess it up.
