I love exercise bikes! I had one and really really enjoyed it. Personally I prefer the recumbent ones, but in general they're great!

For sure! Gluten is my only one, and I'm really hoping I don't have to drop it all the time. It's really hard. I've been trying to eat healthy but it's really hard when there are restrictions on what you can eat. meh.

But, like I said, I'm hoping!

I refer the recumbent ones too (I used to have one but it ended up getting ruined when we moved once.   ) but this one is one with moving arms. Either way it was free.

I'm working on eating healthier too. It's slow going in my MIL's house... they are true cajuns; eating like smurf and eating a lot... and completely offended if you don't eat their cooking.   But we'll be moving soon so it'll be easier. I can manage to not buy junk, thus not get tempted by junk... but when it's already bought here, in my reach, it's muuuch harder to resist.

What I am wondering is if you are considered obese.... You are pretty big, Not like "huge tom huge" big but big enough to where certain daily tasks leave you out of breath (playing on the floor with baby, going up and down stairs) leave you out of breath...
Is there a risk at some point down the line that you may cause harm to yourself?
You see shows on tv all the time where they take rather large people and enter them in slim down challenges in documentaries or reality tv and then they throw them into jumping jacks and jogging...while they are fine afterwards you wonder while they are jumping around all red faced if they may drop dead right there...they have medics on scene. Its all well taken care of.
In reality as big as I am sometimes after a power walk or maybe even a slow jog I am wondering if my heart will burst too(not literally but heart attack?)....
Anyone know of any risk factors or a good start point for exercise? I don't have a camera man following me or a medic on scene. I don't wanna blow a gasket on the side of the road. :/
someone correct me if I am over worrying.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you would keel over unless you were already about to anyway, you know?

I'd start slow, like with leisurely walks or something and then work my way up if I thought I would suffer negatively from strenuous exercise.

Tai Chi may be a good place to start. It focuses on balance and stuff.

Yeah, smoking increases the likelihood of developing heart disease. If you are interested in natural things, cardioplus from standard process actually helps heal the heart.
Have you considered an E-cig? The bad part of smoking is the smoke and tar. Chemically, nicotine is in the same class as caffeine.

I would get a thourough check up before starting anything physical. The whole thing on those shows is they not only push them but they have a group of people monitoring them too. I think with any physical activity you have a risk of getting hurt. The key is to trust your body and listen to what it says.

Very true. I agree with what you are saying. I like walking the most or swimming.

That is true, I think it is more about making it a habit and then once it is a habit it will no longer be burdensome.

I've been having a hard time being active lately. I've started this new bc and it has been kicking my butt. I'm majorly fatigued, and pair that with having to homeschool and try to keep up in grad school, sometimes it feels like I have nothing left. Hopefully my body will acclimate to the pill soon.

Well I was SUPPOSED to start Jeff Galloway's marathon for beginner plan. But I've been going through some life changes and haven't had the motivation to do so. Still running 3-4 x's a week. I'm also supposed to start back up for another Mudder which means I'll need some weight training. I mostly do high intensity intervals. I think I'm going to wait until after the Holidays. Things are too stressful right now to do more than just maintain.
