I have to write an "opinions paper" on Abortion for my Criminology class. I have only had one pregnancy and I didn't terminate it, so I don't really know about abortion from a personal perspective. I need to add different views and opinions from different people. Aside from research and stats off google and articles, I wanted to get some answers from real mom's and their personal views and feelings on it. And for the record, I'm pro choice and wouldn't judge anyone on your beliefs and why you chose to have an abortion or why you didn't.

-I placed. I was against abortion when I got pregnant, otherwise I would have had an abortion. I don't regret it per se, but I do wish I had seen it as a viable option. I really did not want to be pregnant at all.

-I don't think there should be a set legal limit. I don't personally agree with aborting past 2nd trimester unless it's for medical reasons but I think if somebody is making that decision, they have a reason and aren't just doing it off a whim. And even if it is a whim, she obviously doesn't need to parent that child and probably wouldn't adopt out.

I absolutely do not regret either of my abortions. I never have.

I was in an abusive relationship (with the same man, both times) and we were really struggling to meet ends meet. Off and on homelessness, barely affording food, clothes, necessities, etc. Another baby would not have factored into our life.

I am perfectly fine with this, as someone else stated they had an abortion because they had no attachment to the fetus, i also had no attachment to my LO while i was preg with her, i didnt even have an attachment to her until shewas like2 days old.. but i would never have aborted her, if it had persisted i would have given her to a family who would have loved her if i wasnt able to.

Yeah, I posted it in AS at first without realizing I may offend people so I moved it here. I also figure it's a good place to get people's opinions and perspectives. And I'm re-writing the responses in a nutshell, I'm not going to show this or use any type of identification from here in my paper. I'm just going to put "survey" under resources so no worries

nah. sometimes the only thing that gets me is thinking of logan (3) holding a little brother or sister, being a big brother. sometimes for some reason i feel like i owe him a sibling, but i think thats just society playing my mind. i had siblings and that didnt work out so well. Other than that, i still feel relief.

well, i dont know. part of me thinks maybe i would regret it if i let myself, part of me thinks that part of me is rediculous. no point in torturing myself. I felt no attachment to this child or whatever.

well this one idk. I had a miscarriage 7 years ago. i was 18 and hated my life, lowest point in my life when i found out i was pregnant. so scared and alone... anyway i got into some drugs and miscarried. my first thought was"thank god". well for a few years after that i tortured myself for thinking that, and was very confused about the meaning and worth of life. well i thought i got a lot better when i had logan. sometimes i still feel that way though. i dont think it was because of my abortion, or any of these events, they are just experiences that i try to wrap this reasoning around. now i think its odd that i can just walk away from something that used to matter so much to me. like its nothing- not care. i have felt very detached from my own life. again, not sure if its because of the abortion or just the way i think....

I didn't have an abortion. I have only been pregnant once, with twin girls. They were forced to be born at 25 weeks gestation, because of problems of oxygen in the womb. After about 3 hours, they pasted away in the NICU. I was only fifteen. I had to finish school, and I had a life ahead of me. Would I still want to abort given all of this? No, I wouldn't. Of course not.

After having both of my baby girls laying in my chest, I value life so much. I had no idea they were sick, and I had no idea they would eventually pass away, until a week before their birth, when the doctor brocke the news, that probably, they wouldn't make it. However, I would do anything to be there once again, holding them in my arms. They were mommy's girls and will always be. I was blessed to have them in my life, even for just a few hours. Abortion would have robbed me away from all that love.

Never had an abortion, but I would think yes, it can cause horrible emotional problems.

I believe abortion should be legal under some circustances, and not fully legal for everyone. It truly depends on the situation: If the mother was rapped, if birth can cause horrible life-threatning situations for mom and/or baby.. If there won't be any quality of life.. And so on. But aborting "just because", I mean, just because you weren't responsible enough to use a condomn or you forgot something, or made any mistake, it doesn't automatically mean you are free to kill a baby.

I know what I am talking about. I was fifteen and forgot the condomn, so I DO know how dumb someone can be. But my mistakes can't condemn my babies' lives. It's just wrong.
