Okay? Why are you basing your opinion on the few children you've been around? That's just ignorant. If you're going to have an opinion, have an educated one.

I think you may want to read this. THIS is how you know your child is ready to potty train, these are the general signs. Not walking and talking...

Right? Isaiah was walking and talking at 9 months, I must be super lazy. Boy should be potty trained by now.

My 13 month old would rather put his trucks in the toilet than sit on it. He does like to deuce in the bathtub though. He thinks it's hilarious! lol

My son is 2.5, not SN, and still isn't PT'd. He's actually walking around the house completely naked right now and hasn't had an accident once, but refuses to pee or poop in the potty. I just decided to start this again today, I've tried several times in the past and nothing has come of it.

I try for a few days and if it doesn't work, then I give it a break for a few weeks. He isn't ready and I think it's normal.

Pediatricians even tell you there are 4 steps to being ready to potty train. Not just walking and talking.

My son can walk and talk but there is a communication barrier as well as an understanding.

I think most people (including me) voted 2-3 because that is simply the AVERAGE age.

Quoting proudlypreggers:" I understand the whole waiting until they are ready thing but what if they arent ready until maybe 5-6 ... [snip!] ... later? I mean that does more harm then good correct? Especially with starting school and other extra curricular activities."

Well then the smart thing would be to think maybe there is something going on there. I mean you can't assume to know what is going on in each child's life. No parent is addicted to changing diapers and potty training isn't something you should force.

Well if I judged all potty training by my experience I would say you and your kids are slackers.

Well according to the poll 2 is an appropriate time to start training and i started maybe right before the 2nd birthday and by 3 they were fully potty trained meaning no more accidents so i dont understand how you see that as slacking but meh thats your opinion. I have encountered some lazy moms that will sit and watch tv all day instead of spending time with their children and teaching them. You would jump to conclude something may be wrong with the child when nothing may be wrong at all they may just have a lazy parent. They do exist ya know. I dont assume i know every child this is why this question was asked.
