Quoting Epic Big Head:" It's weird that I just posted a thread about my 4 year old not being potty trained and stumbled onto ... [snip!] ... kids not being potty trained. My daughter looks perfectly normal, but is delayed to the level of an 18-24 month old child. "

Actually i just looked at your post tbh. I was asking myself bc my SOs "daughter" will be four in December can walk and talk and is not potty trained and him and i were discussing it. Dont make stuff about you that isnt.

!! I agree with this. Some kids take awhile to go throughout the night without bed wetting. Hell I wet the bed much longer than I would like to admit.

Walking and talking is not the same as being able to potty train. They are different things and take different types of learning and maturation. The two aren't correlated.

My son's teachers put him on the potty twice a day. they have for 2 years. He still screams as though he is in pain. I won't be forcing the issue, kwim?

Quoting Jas ♥:" See, that's why people shouldn't be so judgmental when it comes to things like this. You don't know ... [snip!] ... 6 years old. My 2 year old keeps playing around. One minute he wants to use the potty then the next, he wants a diaper  "

It's the competitive mom thing I think. They are the same ones who brag about how advanced their children are. Why can't kids just do things at their own pace?

Yes, you were judging. Even now you are saying no one had to comment. But, I'm sure if a bunch of women agreed with you, you'd be singing a different tune.

I hope you learned something from this thread.

I think half the time, moms are just making smurf up or exaggerating. I don't need my kid to be a genius, they are freaking 2 and almost 4 years old. An advanced kid isn't any better than mine. In fact, I tend to think more highly of those children who had set backs and struggles but came out on top.

What is a goodnights bed mat? We were using pull ups for a while but it got to be so expensive. The diaper comes off as soon as she gets up and we praise her like crazy if she doesn't wet herself.

Mine definitely is not in some areas. Sure he waa fully PTed at 2.5 but he has a severe speech delay. It's just something I'm proud of   (the PTing) I feel like people judge when I'm out in public w/ him. People should realize every kid is different.

You can just use diapers as well. Whether you praise her or not wont have effect if she just can't wake up or doesn't notice.
