None of these things can be fixed by an overly persistent parent. And in terms of thing non biological, forcing a non compliant child would yield worse results and delay things further. Its apparent you have never dealt with a spirited child. Which isn't surprising.

My fix for what? My child is potty trained....and he did an amazing job with potty training!! I dont have carpets, hardwood floors actually. I did the naked butt method, you know where you just let them run around butt naked and guess what!! He did smurf on my floor as well as pee, numerous times actually and I never once yelled or made him feel ashamed for the mistake, you dumb smurf. *gasps* I dont need to worry about having a 6 year old in a diaper...*shrugs* but if I did for a medical reason beyond my control then guess what I'd be okay with that!

A special need is a special need not only in a mental form. A childs special need may be that they may have a bowel/urinary problem. I encountered a child that screamed every time he pooped bc it hurt him that bad but he was potty trained. Ive worked with autistic children, who are very lovely children btw that were potty trained. My last client had 4 boys and 3 were autistic. They went to the restroom but had difficulties in other areas. I know how difficult it can be at times for children with special needs this why ive said countless times my theory does not apply to those children and just bc i have an opinion does not mean that im judging anyone in particular bc thats not the case at all.
