I started when my daughter started peeing in the potty. There is no age. No child is alike. The right age is when that child is ready. Better to change diapers for an extra year or two then damage them for life by forcing pting to early. They can get UTI's they can get psychological issues surrounding bodily functions.

yes actually ive worked with special needs kids as a CNA and i had to change a 14 year old diapers on more than one occasion. I wasnt referring to special needs children. I meant the average child.

I was curious why she out of nowhere wanted to debate this

DD has been day potty trained since she was 2 1/2 with a little bit of regression. Now at 3, she refuses to go out in public which makes it hard to do things and she still isn't potty trained when she sleeps. She doesn't feel it and wake up. I have woken her up many times because she had soaked her sheets and she was still asleep.

The appropriate time to potty train a child is when they're ready to potty train. If they show interest and signs they're ready, I don't think there's anything wrong with starting. .

I would probably use a good nights pull up or a good nights bed mat

I love when judgmental smurfs don't have the balls to post their hateful smurf in the OP thread, rather make a thread to try to get people to make them feel like they are not a waste of air and share their opinions.

Really im not judging anyone or their kids. I asked a question as i have seen moms post about their children not being potty trained maybe a little later and i expressed my opinion. No one had to comment again it was just a question.

See, that's why people shouldn't be so judgmental when it comes to things like this. You don't know a child's story or what they are dealing with.

My daughter had communication delays and wasn't ready to PT until she was 3. By me waiting until SHE was ready, PTing went much smoother than it would have if I tried to force her. She was completely night and day trained in 2 months. The night training she did on her own. I wasn't expecting that until she was at least 5 or 6 years old.

My 2 year old keeps playing around. One minute he wants to use the potty then the next, he wants a diaper

my kid looks average   as do most children with autism. You'd never know until you tried to speak to her.

It's super awesome to know that there are moms out there who care so much about when other kids are potty trained. Be thankful you have a healthy child and have compassion for those who don't, instead of looking down and judging.
