LO has been fully PT'ed since 20 months. However, she showed interest and she doesnt like to be in dirty pants, so she goes on the toilet  

I dont feel like reading about the Autism thing too much, however I think its so rude for anyone to call a child "mental."

Maybe someone should have TRAINED you on being tolerant of other people's needs and correct terminology when you working with developmentally disabled people. Maybe someone should currently TRAIN you to not judge other families based on one observation and look at the whole picture, seeing as you currently work in the medical field.

Never once have i judged anyone or their family in this thread until my children and i were. I asked a general question. "When is an appropriate age to PT your child?" i gave my opinion and my own experience. I didnt claim to know everyones child and everyones problem. What worked for me may not work for someone else but when you say you pity my children bc of how i parent i have to say that mines arent the one you need to pity yours are... Also the correct terminology for a child with special needs may be that they have a mental retardation but ive been using the words special needs this whole time.

If a kid is not ready to use a potty, all the willing and begging from the parent will not amount to jack smurf. Point blank.

I'm really not sure if you understand that the child has a special need if they are still in diapers at 5 years old. That is a developmental delay. Its not lazy parenting. Stop being so judgy.

Does it take a certain level of intelligence for people to understand that? I'm starting to wonder if this is the norm. I thought the average person was smart enough to get this concept.

I listed out a bunch of reasons why potty training may be delayed. Of course it got overlooked. Judging people and expecting the worst is so much better than cutting people slack.
