Quoting proudlypreggers:" Well according to the poll 2 is an appropriate time to start training and i started maybe right before ... [snip!] ... they may just have a lazy parent. They do exist ya know. I dont assume i know every child this is why this question was asked."

So because you have an anonymous poll, that gives you a clear cut indication into the correct age for all children.

And no I don't assume late training children have lazy parents. Lazy parents don't like changing diapers. Parents who listen to their kids cues don't mind paying the extra money to buy diapers so that they can work with their kids.

Anonymous or otherwise its still a poll of others thoughts.... Either way you obviously never been around a mom with a 4 year old walking around with a sagging diaper and the mother is just sitting there not doing anything. Whether what i did was "forced" or not it got done without any issues. My kids arent scarred or damaged (what a shocker right). Back in the day you rarely really saw a child past the age of 2 in a diaper but this new generation of moms... lol you enjoy your day.

Didn't read all 11 pages but yup, age is different for every kid. And OP based on your last response, you sound ignorant and judgmental. "Back in the day" it was acceptable to hit your children, breastfeeding was "disgusting," nobody knew smurf about special needs children, and car seat laws were nonexistent. Yeah, we should really follow that example. It's called research and evolution.

The problem there is not the potty training, its parental neglect. Leaving a child in a dirty diaper is a health hazard. Parents who wait on potty training their children aren't neglectful. And this back in the day bullsmurf is dumb. Some kids have a harder time training. You sound so incredibly ignorant and are still overlooking the fact that there could be some extenuating circumstances.

Its potty training ffs, your kids aren't curing world hunger. No you don't get any amazing award or special consideration forcing your kids to train sooner.

This statement is not surprising considering you're only looking for comments to support your bias.

Lol no actually i wasnt looking for anyone to support anything. I asked other opinions on the matter and got just that but jumping in at the end of a forum and passing judgement without reading anything ive had to say on the matter is just as ignorant. If people took offense i cant help that. Lol

Actually using your most recent post is an accurate representation. You just made that comment right now, which reflects what you currently feel.

As opposed to yesterday when i stated numerous times that as a CNA i have worked with special needs children and adults who will only ever know a diaper bc they are bed or wheelchair ridden. I also stated that my theory did not apply to special needs children only the average child. This is why it helps to read.

So because of your CNA experience you have the right to just judge any kid you randomly see in a diaper. You know you can't just tell a kid has special needs just by looking at them. Not all special needs children find themselves bed ridden or in wheel chairs. And not only special needs kids have a hard time potty training. Again your judgment is useless.

If my next kid takes longer than my daughter did to potty train I'm not going to become some forceful monster who won't let them leave the potty chair. Nor will I judge other parents based on choices that worked for my family.

I never stated i was a "Forceful monster" nor did i judge anyones family for their choices. I asked a question, expressed my own opinion and experience within the question and made a thread lol.. Either way im on to another thread. You enjoy your day once again.

When they are showing signs AND not trying to manipulate mommy and daddy.
My daughter knew how to control her bladder very well but she used ti for control. When we stopped mentioning it she miraculously started using the potty and not her diaper. That last part happend REALLY fast and we only had 2 accidents due to her being too interested in an activity to stop and go potty.
same thing with poop. she'd tell us and ask for a diaper or pullup. then she surprsed us one night after dinner by using the potty for poop.

Waiting pretty much summed everything I wanted to say up but yeah. That's why I said BASED ON YOUR LAST COMMENT. Now look who can't read. And spanking....well, that's a whole other debate.
