Child riding in a single cab truck?

My daughter is 4 years old, and rides in a backed-booster seat with a seatbelt. My mother drives a Toyota Tacoma and it has just been brought up into conversation....can she drive with my daughter in the truck? We live in MA yet i still can't find too much info online.
I'm not sure how i feel about the idea.....but i'm just wondering if it is legal? And is it really safe? I feel like it is so much LESS safe than a regular car....

Yes its legal. Just turn the airbag off.

yes. as long as the air bag can be turned off or there no air bag on that side.

Turn off the airbag & your child will be ok to ride in the car with her grandma
