Best way to cut back on soda

posted 7th Oct
So I try my hardest to drink as many glasses of water I can a day. When I eat I drink a small glass of soda. When I stop drinking soda completely I get these awful headaches. Should I "wean" myself off soda like you do with a baby and switching from formula to cow's milk? Just slowly cut it out?

Try another source of caffeine. Such as coffee or tea?

Yes, just wean. Them headaches do get pretty bad. If you're drinking like 4 sodas a day, try to do 3, then 2, then 1. Try substituting caffeine for maybe tea and Mio w/ caffeine.

Or go with diet soda.. if you're trying to cut back because of the calories.
Or wait, does diet soda contain caffeine still? I've no idea

Drink a healthier source of caffeine. One that doesnt contain HFCS (recent studies show that consuming to much HFCS will put you on the track for obesity by deforming fat cells that will NEVER go back) Coffee and tea have both shown to have health benefits.

Take it out of the house completely. Thats the only way that I'll stop drinking pop.

The headaches are from caffeine withdrawal.

I'd wean. Or switch to another form of caffeine. It's probably the caffeine withdraw you are experiencing.

Don't buy any soda, then you won't be tempted to drink it. You may go thru some withdrawals the first few days, but taking a Tylenol will help.

I went cold turkey cutting out soda awhile ago, but sometimes when we're out I'll buy one and can't even finish it b/c it tastes nasty.

If you have a problem with "plain" water, you can either put lemon in it (my favorite way) or get those Mio things to flavor your water

I don't like tea lol. But I've been buying the bottles of Starbucks Frappucinnos for when I have to get up to babysit super early. IDK if it's the same as regular coffee and it's 290 calories for one bottle, but I never drink a whole bottle. I use a little coffee cup and I usually drink 2 cups.

I live with my parents and SO and they're big soda drinkers lol.
And I don't have a problem with drinking plain water, it just gets boring lol. I saw something on tv where they had cucumber water and it sounded really good.

it still has a lot of sugar, but sugar is way better than HFCS
