  VWS.

Pain meds make delivering easier. Induction makes it harder, increases the risk of emergency C-section, and makes baby come out before baby is ready. Big difference from blocking pain.

please like i asked no negative comments, now please keep in mind i have a small body structure... i was 15 when i had my son and i went a week over my due date and he weighed 7 pounds and 12 ounces, then i had my daughter at 17 she was an 8 pound baby, and i also went a week over with her... my doctors induced me for the fact of i am small and they didnt want me to deliver a 10 pound baby and end up having to have a c-section... now i also had to have 20 stitches with my daughter because she was a rather large child

inductions probably make the use of pain meds more prevalent.

And I actually did not get pain relief until it became medically necessary during my VBAC. I went natural for 27 hours and was fully dilated, however I had a cervical lip that would not go away, and my body would not push past it. I was in transition for hours. I got to choose to try and get an epi or to get a c-section at that point. As soon as I got the epi my body fully dilated within 20 minutes. And I got my VBAC!!

Your body obviously makes small babies, even overdue. I had my first at 42 weeks and she was 10lbs. And my VBAC baby 2 days after her DD and she was 9lbs. All you are showing is your body is making babies that are exactly the right size for you. As for the tearing, when you push out a baby on your back, that will happen. It is the worst position to push in.

How small are you?

I had a 9lb3oz baby at 19, I'm 5'3" and I was very thin when I started my pregnancy with her.

I have seen 4'11" women have natural homebirths with ten pound babies... 3 weeks overdue.

They told me DD was going to be a 10 pounder... she was a healthy and happy 7lbs 13oz. Those weight measurements they do in-utero can be WAY off.

Tearing isn't necassarily because of the size of the baby. Just how fast they come out in some cases. I'm 100lbs and tore for my 8 pounder and not my 9 pounder at all.

A week isn't that far overdue and 8 pounds really isn't that big. Average really.

umm... etting induced does not et your labor over faster. I was induced at 34 weeks with my daughter (because she had passed in utero), and I had a 26hour labor, and spent the last 14hours of that having strong contractions every 3-5minutes. It was horrible.

Every single one of my friends who has had a natural labor progression (no pitocin), has had a labor thatis less than 18hours. Definately alot faster than induction.

Also induction increases the chance of havign to have a c-section. Personally, unless there is a VERY necessary reason for it, I will NOT allow my drs to induce me during any future pregnancies.
