My husband doesn't want me to get one with this baby. He doesn't like them just because of the chances they carry along with em. But I guess it just depends on what happens

Well when its you're first baby and you have to trust your doctor iy can get confusing...I hear bad things can happen if you go too late, i don't want an induction cause "im tired of being pregnant" because frankly ink not tired of being pregnant! I want to let things happen naturally but also if the doctor really does indeed show proof or real concern that in should get a c-section or induction, then I feel i need to put trust in them because like i said this is my first and I just want the best for my baby and my doctor should know these things...sure i can suggest what i want to happen but I'm not a doctor and i just want my baby here safely whatever that way may be

If you can do it without one, go for it, but aint no damn way a man understands the pain a woman goes through during labor. lol

Of course you should trust your doctor, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt do research of your own.

Trust your doctors, but educate YOURSELF as well. Doctors, despite their best intentions at times, ARE still a paid service, and in the end, they worry more about getting paid most of the time than they do their patients. Read up on the drugs they push in L&D, and you'll see how hospitals and doctors work now. It's all about the almighty dollar.

It's why I'm a strong advocate for midwives when they're available. They focus more on the mother and child and family than they do getting paid most of the time, and they go more for natural pain management than they do pain RELIEF/drugs. I labored for HOURS before my C-Section with no drugs at all, and the techniques they teach really do help!

They have a midwife where I live but she wasnt taking any one new and they toss you to other docs in her office, that's why I decided to go to the town I lived in before.

Yea that's true...but then at the same time I have my husband, family, and friends telling me to stop reading things online because as we all know you can't believe everything you read especially online, and because in hear something and start dwelling on it or looking too far into it, then the doctor tells me you can't believe all that stuff too! Ahhh so freaking confusing but i know especially my husband just wants me to remain calm and stress free with everything:-) well we're so close to our son being here in just wasn't to hear some good news today from the doctor

Quoting Cynthia Stevenson:" So because my body won't put itself into labor I'm unnatural?"
i guess we both are...i was induced with my first early(38 weeks) because i have a small pelvic outlet..i ended up needing a c-section anyway but my Dr. told me from the start that was probably going to happen...i can understand wanting to have a chemical free labor but for some people it is just unavoidable
