Ok so I have a question about the membrane stripping thing... What exactly do they do with that procedure?

It was an eye opener. They had a very set labor schedule, and they started trying to push pitocin by a certain time, JUST to empty a bed. Gotta remember, an empty bed can be filled by a new patient to charge.

I noticed that! When I was delivering my youngest, okay, I had my epi, was dilated to an 8 and they wanted to give me Pitocin to speed things up! It didn't occur to me then...Damn.

It was at an internal exam at my OB's office and while the nurse was in there, lol, she stretched my cervix out by moving her fingers pretty aggressively in circles. It's intense. I had a BH both times I've had it done.

It was a little painful when I had it done with my first. When I had it done a second time with my youngest, it didn't hurt at all. BH is Braxton Hicks contractions.

Exactly. When I was in labor with my daughter, right after I got my epi, A nurse was outside my room and apparently didnt realize that I could hear her and she told another nurse, "Why is she still here? We could be using that room for someone who is having an ACTUAL baby." The other nurse told her off, but it still instilled in me the idea that the drs and nurses just want to free up the beds and rooms for other patients. Whats worse is that was in a military hospital, so it was all covered by my insurence anyway.

Thats how I felt too. If I hadnt just gotten my epi and couldnt move I would have gotten up and gone into the hall and hit her. As it was, we had her banned from my room and from coming anywhere near me while we were in the hospital.
