Hey...that's the link she gave me. I just read it...

Just saying, the reason WHY people are saying its unnatural is because your body *Typically* (Not always) knows how hard to turn on the contractions. Your labor is controlled by the amount of hormones necessary to get the baby out. When pitocin is introduced, it increases the strength and duration of the contractions, which is bad BECAUSE it causes many problems to the baby, including cord prolapse, getting stuck in the canal, heart rate decreasing, and many other problems that can lead to a C-Section. The reasons it is necessary to induce though is 1) if you go past 42 weeks, there are known and unknown reasons for increased fetal death, and 2) if the water is broken already, and the baby does not want to come out or the uterus does not want to contract, its the only option you have BEFORE a C-Section because the baby should not be in the uterus once the water is broken. That can also cause many unnecessary issues 3) Problems existing before labor that can constitute induction.

Quoting [Pseudonym]:" Hey, uh, the Midwivesonline link literally just said, "It still is unclear what causes labour to begin, ... [snip!] ... a mystery. As research continues, the answer to this question may soon be answered." You're voting for Romney, too, aren't you?"

It ALSO said "Some researchers now believe that the baby actually starts labour. The baby sends a signal to the mother's body that causes labour to start. One theory is that the baby's lungs secrete an enzyme when they are fully developed. This causes prostaglandins to be released into the mother's system. The prostaglandins then trigger changes in the cervix and contractions. Another theory is that the baby's adrenal glands send a signal to start labour. When the baby is ready to be born, the adrenal glands produce hormones. These hormones cause hormonal changes in the mother. These changes are responsible for the process that starts labour." But way to read what you want to read and miss the valid research that was in there.

And while he(Romney) did a HELL of a lot better job than Obama in the debate, I'm voting for Gary Johnson. Not that that matters during this, since I don't vote based on reproductive rights alone and I use more than my vagina and uterus to make a conclusion about who to vote for.

They make hormones. Two of those links are theories. One of them says that babies born before 38 weeks are premature. Um, really. So my eight pound 37 weeker was premature?

No, your 37 weeker was term. Not full term.

Ever consider the thought that your due date was off by a few weeks? It happens all the time.

No.
My periods are like clockwork. I chart when I ovulate. According to the ultrasounds I got, she grew right on target.

I'm sure they have some sort of evidence that shows hormones start labor. Which sounds a lot more credible to me than just saying, "No. No one knows what starts labor." lol

But nobody does know for sure. It's true. They have theories, though...

Us can be wrong. Thats why some nurses say- you baby looks big- and they end up being an average size.

When the theories are proven, then they can be considered fact to me. Facts and theories are two different entities.

So are mine, but you can CONCEIVE or have implantation happen at varying times, pending on if sperm survived from your last sex session. They said DD grew right on target too, she still put me in labor at 38 weeks fully developed, and measuring full term. They said my DD was probably off. It happens.
