re: tell me about your 34weekers

My niece was born at 34 weeks and weighed 4 lbs 4 oz. She didn't go to the nicu at all. She was treated for jaundice but stayed in the room with my sis the whole time. They were both released after 72 hours. She is 5years now and never had any problems and is extremely advanced

They have been pulling up for months now, and will stand as long as they're holding onto anything. Walk behind toys & holding our hands. They just learned how to climb up onto the couch this week. Just not standing or walking unassisted.

Oh and idk if you plan on breast feeding, but don't get discouraged if this baby is harder then others. because my LO took about 2-3 months before he could bf by himself (without nipple shield or pumped bottles)

Its ok! It could have been much worse so Im thankful! And be careful about the weight. They told me a day before I had him that he was going to be a solid 7 1/2 lbs. He came out at barley 6.

Dd never stood unassisted. She went straight from holding on to stuff to walking.

They haven't given me a weight on him. Just told he seems big and measure 2 weeks ahead.

Yes I plan to bf. I will hang in there no doubt.

Maybe mine will do that! This makes me feel better. They are starting to balance, if I stand them up they'll sometimes stay up around 10 seconds. Then they get this really scared look on their face & sit down & clap.

Yeah my son never did the whole just standing there thing. he went from cruising to walking. I helped him out by walking behind him holding onto him underneath his armpits and then letting go, and eventually he just went. haha.

Yeah dd was scared as well. We just kept encouraging her and held her hand a lot. It really helped I think.

And if your LO does end up going into the NICU. you can pump and give it to them and they will feed him that instead of formula. Even on a feeding tube they can do that.

Yeah I will be pumping my ass off if I have to. Bf ing is important to me.

That's great. I honestly really feel it helped my son with his low weight. cause he got chunky super fast. haha. I hope my 2nd baby will be easier to bf then my son. lol

Both my kids took to it fast. Even my Ds who was tongue tied. I was lucky.

lucky! my first few months were kind of a hassle. but i'm glad i stuck with it.
