What kind of opk do you use? I was using the Answer brand and I don't know if it's just cuz they're a pos but I didn't get a positive on it this month and I sure did get some very painful twinges in my right ovary. It feels like I'm ovulating since I always knew when I was cuz of the twinges and that's how we got pregnant the first time (with our angel) and I still get it but I want to find a brand that will be good to use.

i have used one choice or first choice but i have confirmed with answer because I wasnt sure the others work well. You can still get the pain and even a positive OPK but not actually release an egg. But Im having the pain as well

That's my problem. I get the strong pains and other symptoms but no positive opk. So I bought a basal thermometer to chart this month coming and next so that way if I have to call the doctor about having no positive opks I can also show her my charts.

thats good to chart too. I wanna do as much as i can before i go to a specialist

I really hate all this because last year we had no problem getting pregnant without using medication and all this stuff. All we did was BD every other night. We also started exercising not long before I found out I was pregnant. So I think that may have helped too. We started back exercising yesterday. We'll walk 2 miles everyday to see if it'll help me. I haven't really gained much weight since last year. I'm 5lbs heavier which I know can make a big difference but it's not like it's 20 or more. I just hope something happens soon.

Do you have PCOS? I'm just askin cuz they say women with PCOS can have longer LH surges than those that don't. But I don't know if it's normal or not. Your body may just be hangin on to the LH hormone.

Honeslty I have no idea if I do. my gyno has never said anything and I havnt been to a specialist. Is it something they would see on a regular exam

They determined I had it by me having facial hair (not much but enough to see), having trouble losing weight, and because I had one cyst on my right ovary (which was removed August 20th). They usually will do hormone checks because women with PCOS has elevated levels at times. Mine were all normal. They put me on metformin to kick start ovulation and help me lose weight. I think it did the opposite. Since starting it I think it made me stop ovulating. So I really think I'm getting off of it and see what happens. If I don't ovulate after this cycle then I can assume it wasn't the metformin. They also do an ultrasound to check ovaries. How long did it take you to get a positive opk? The reason I ask is cuz you labled the post Finally!

When I started using OPK's I would get an actual positive like the test line was as dark as the control last month so I did it again this month and it was later than the expected time to ovulate

Oh ok. I thought you were having trouble getting a positve with the opks. I'm hoping it's the opks and not me that's wrong you know. I'm hoping it's just not picking up my surge and I am ovulating. But I've taken two brands and haven't gotten a positive but I tried the other brand just this past week. I don't remember if you should ovulate 14 days from the 1st day of your period or 14 days after your period is over. I don't remember which. I think it's 14 days from the last day. Do you know which it is?
