do you judge?

posted 6th Oct
If you know a mother constantly feeds her kids unhealthy foods... do you judge her? do you think she should make better choices for her child? that she should choose to feed her child something that is healthier for them?

like... a 2 year old drinking only sweet tea.... hot dogs etc?

is it enough that she makes sure her kids are fed? they are her kids.. her choice how she feeds them? or do you think it makes her less of a parent to choose to feed them soemthing that isn't as healthy as fruits, veggies, unprocessed foods?

If they CONSTANTLY feed their kids nothing but crap? Yes, I judge them. If they occasionally feed them fast food in a pinch or give them a few chips/whatever.. No. Nothing wrong with the occasional item, but constant poor eating IS wrong and it's sad. It's setting that child up for a lifetime of weight and health issues and it's bad parenting.

Of course I judge. I'd probably even say something too.

I think it's gross and giving a child s terrible start. And healthy foods are not that expensive. You can eat healthy on a budget, people chose not and chose convience over health.

1. Everyone judges.
2. Why set your child up to have weight/health issues??? An occasional sweet/junk food...who cares??? All the time though? Get it together.

I'm horrible at judging people, so I would.

Mom's judge other Mom's...it's the name of the game. If it wasn't about food, it would be about something else. I, of course, think it's an unwise choice to feed your kids a bunch of junk and filler foods and nothing healthy, because it is unhealthy and dangerous for a child to only eat those foods. Obesity and childhood diabetes is an issue, but I am not going to go out of my way to be an ass about it...hopefully a doctor advises the parent on how to feed their child and if they choose to not listen, what else can you really do? It isn't your child and you have no rights to really complain. I see it a lot though.

Only when they start bitching about it. I hate when people complain about how their kid will only eat chicken nuggets and sprite or how they have behavioral problems. Umm maybe if you weren't so lazy and fed your kid better foods then they wouldn't have these problems.

Yeah, but never vocally.

Unless they start complaining that their kid is malnourished or overweight. Then I'm vocal about it.

ok... so it's proven, medical fact that breast milk is best for a child..

so if a prent feeds junk food isntead of healthy food.. it's ok to judge..

but if a parent chooses not to try to breast feed.. knowing it's the best thing for a baby... it's not ok to judge?

Yes but I would say anything to her unless she was hurting the kids.

I picked "other," because i sometimes do, but not all of the time. Like if we are out at a restaurant and i see a 2 year old sipping on coke, i've caught myself thinking that the least they could have done is given them something without caffeine. Other times, i think it may be a treat. I don't personally know a lot of women with children, so the only time i see it is when i'm out and about. Typically i'm not eating the healthiest when out either, so i figure it's probably not an everyday thing.

They are somewhat similar in a sense but you really can't compare them. Feeding junk food instead of healthy foods is about choice. Sometimes a woman cannot physically breastfeed.

There is a difference in feeding them the best foods and the worst. Formula is not the worst thing you can give a newborn.... nothing but sweet tea and junk is the worst you can give to your kid.

Some people cannot BF or they choose not to for selfish reasons, who cares, they are still feeding their child something that is beneficial.

It's cheaper and easier to just give your kid cow's milk from the beginning.... I'd judge that, but not formula.
